Sample Script

In case anyone was looking for one. I did this up for Odi, but anyone's free to use it if they would like to do some pages.

Batgirl/Robin: Alien Nation

Page One:

Panel 1:
Gotham at dusk. The city looms with winter coming in cold this year. Not a lot of snow has fallen, but there are traces of it on railings and ledges of windows and fire escapes. We’re looking down from a cornerstone of a rooftop onto a street nearing empty.

Panel 2:
Close up of BATGIRL’s mouth and chin in a profile. A breath is seen hanging in the brisk air from lips that are contoured in her black stitched mask.

Panel 3:
Same Panel but a second mouth is in the near background of hers facing the same direction. It’s unmasked and the lips looks young and male.

“Cold night”
says the young man next to her.
“Makes me wonder why I’m the only one in this family who doesn’t wear a cowl and sleeves.”

Panel 4:
Pan out to see ROBIN is perched on all fours on the ledge next to BATGIRL.
“Mmph.” Is the stoic girl’s only reply.

Panel 5:
Batgirl’s head whips around near the foreground as she hears a savage beating taking place.

Page Two:

Panel 1:
ROBIN placing a hand on BATGIRL’s shoulder to give her a sense that he’s got her back with a smile

Panel 2:
BATGIRL runs along the slender ledge of the building her face is anything but a smile under her shadowed mask. ROBIN remains on the ledge briefly with a dejected look.

Panel 3:
Wide spread of the cape as BATGIRL leaps into the alleyway just off the street we’d just seen. Her angle leaves her almost completely blackened save for her belt and bat sigil.
The THREE HOODS below are raising and throwing fists off the bottom of the panel as blood sprays the walls. The back end of a MOVING VAN peeks into the frame.

Page Three:

Panel 1:
Batgirl lands atop HOOD 1 crushing him face down into the light snow drift on the ground. The remaining two HOODS recoil in surprise.

Panel 2: Inset within Panel 3
Batgirl’s face has contorted into a snarl as she glares at the remainder of the trio.

Panel 3:
The TWO HOODS and BATGIRL charge each other in a deadly game of chicken.

Panel 4:
BATGIRL launches into the air, legs tucked tightly against her chest in a sequence of action poses that result in her near the foreground in a splits kick driving both men back teeth flying.

Panel 5:
BATGIRL lands in a crouch with her victims at her feet and the hand of THEIR victim poking into the panel signaling she was a moment too late.

Page Four:

Panel 1:
BATGIRL whirls her head around again to look at the poor man and sees ROBIN very shadowed except for eyes, parts of his cheek and his arm as he checks the pulse of the CORPSE.

Panel 2:
ROBIN stands again and regards BATGIRL with a shake of his head to signal the CORPSE’s status.

Panel 3:
ROBIN and BATGIRL approach the van.

Panel 4: Inset within panel 3
ROBIN picks the lock of the VAN’s back roll-up door.
Panel 5:
ROBIN and BATGIRL are framed by a few families of Asian immigrants who are being held prisoner for slave trade in the back of the VAN. Both ROBIN and BATGIRL have eyes wide in disgust of what these poor people look like and what they’ve been through. Most appear alive, but severely malnourished and possibly welts and sores on their skin.

Panel 6:
A very LARGE blur drops down behind BATGIRL and ROBIN causing both to turn their heads in wonder.

Page Five:

Panel 1:
BANE stands full height smirking down at the BAT KIDS.

Panel 2:
BATGIRL throws a batarang towards BANE’s head.

Panel 3:
BANE with complete lofty disregard for the attack, slaps the BATARANG from the air with ease.

Panel 4-7:
A series of equilateral panels showing Robin throwing a barrage of kicks and punches at BANE who has his arms up in defense.

Panel 8:

BANE’s arms part just enough to see his large teeth smirking at the failed attempt.

Page SIX

Panel 1:
BANE swats ROBIN away like a fly.

Panel 2:
BATGIRL charges back onto the scene with a flying sidekick that actually turns BANE’s head with the impact. ROBIN is scene in the background laying amidst some garbage cans dazed.

Panel 3:
BATGIRL is charged up from what she saw in the van. Having been a slave herself, she’s stronger than her little frame lets on. She’s swinging blows at the stumbled BANE, staggering him further.
Panel 4:
BANE’s on his back and BATGIRL is straddling his chest raising her palm in a familiar position. One that only three people in the world know. Herself, BATMAN and LADY SHIVA.

Panel 5:
Close up of the palm strike position. It’s the LEOPARD BLOW. The death touch.

Panel 6: A hand lashes out and grabs BATGIRL by the wrist. It’s ROBIN’s sullied green gloved hand.

Page Seven:

Panel 1:
BATGIRL looks to ROBIN with anger evident in her eyes at his intervention. We can see her face just over ROBIN’s shoulder.

Panel 2:
Same as before, but BATGIRL looks defeated and crestfallen as she understands that ROBIN is completely right this time.

Panel 3:
Batgirl leans into ROBIN and he wraps one arm about her, holding her. He looks a bit shocked because he’s never seen BATGIRL vulnerable.

Panel 4:
BANE starts to come to and leans his head up still dazed from BATGIRL’s barrage.

Panel 5:
ROBIN’s staff shoots into the frame and knocks BANE back out.

Panel 6:
ROBIN and BATGIRL move back towards the VAN to setting those people free.
